Local actors who didn't like the movie
Actually I haven't seen the movie, but I can tell you something about its history.
It was filmed in Valdosta, Georgia, in 1971-72, using many local people as actors.
The only name I recognize in the credits is Jewell Futch, who was the Lowndes County sheriff.
Many of the semi-volunteer actors did not realize what a bad movie they were getting involved in until too late.
The film made its world premiere in Valdosta and was very much disliked by everyone. The townspeople saw it as an attempt by Hollywood to misrepresent and insult the South.
If, of course, the producer was really from Hollywood, as he claimed!
